Safeguarding Training for the Early Years Workforce

The Early Years & Childcare Support, Workforce Development Team, are working in partnership with the Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) to offer the early years sector all of the Safeguarding / Child Protection Training that is essential to meet the EYFS statutory requirements.

Early Years & Childcare Support have sponsored the fees for all LSCB courses for Private, Voluntary, Independent early years settings, for the period April 2018 to March 2019, from the Training Directory budget, but cancellation & non-completion fees apply with the LSCB!  When requesting a course put £0 in the course cost box when prompted.

The LSCB Training Brochure provides supporting information for those undertaking LSCB Training, you should be aware of your responsibilities as failure to meet course requirements could result in fees being charged.

Individual staff need to register to set up their own LSCB learner account www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/lscb - click on register as a new user and complete the necessary fields that determine the area of the childrens workforce that you are employed.

Once the account is set up they request the training they require through the 'course request' tab on your dashboard.  Full instructions on how to do this can be found on the pdf named Registering for any LSCB course found at the bottom of the LSCB Training Home Page.

LSCB—Supporting information for Early Years & Childcare Organisations Covering FAQ’s

Courses are delivered via a combination of e-learning and face to face training to suit different learning styles and to support greatest impact of the sector with the funding available.

The 5 year pathway is designed to develop learning and it is therefore important to start with year 1 learning. However participants can then select the most relevant course for their needs but please note the conditions for course entry (prerequisites), it is important these are completed as all face to face learning builds on the prerequisites.

Delivery of training

Once an e-learning course has been applied for staff will receive a confirmation email automatically. However in some circumstances this may take up to 3 working days to process.

Face to Face

Once a course has been applied for staff will receive a confirmation or rejection email within 3 working days. Applying for a course DOES NOT guarantee a place. However, we would recommend that if you have not received an email confirming your place that you contact the LSCB Training Team on email: LSCB_Training@lincolnshire.gov.uk

Certificates—You are advised to retain awareness / core & refresher certificates in staff files, in one folder (punch   pocket) layered to show the journey a staff member has been on regarding the core training—newest on top, additional certificates can be held separately to show advanced knowledge e.g the range of supporting e-learning   modules that you are required to complete.
