Frequently asked Questions

How is it that some people get username and passwords and other people don’t?

Lincolnshire County Council has allocated a budget specifically for the purpose of developing the Private, Voluntary, Independent early years sector in Lincolnshire, therefore they are the only practitioners that will receive log in details in order that they will then see the reduced fee as the course is partly sponsored with this budget.

Do we get a username and password for each staff member or just for the setting?

The setting will get log in information in order to benefit from the funding that is available for training – they will always be classed as the super user for the setting and all bookings are made on this information. Individual users will receive a user name and password once a course has been allocated in order to be able to view their profile, course bookings and complete course evaluations.

I am registering as a childminder, when do I get my username & password?

You will need to complete the registration form as soon as possible so you can purchase the training that you need to be able to complete your registration with Ofsted. At this point you will not be eligible for discount on the training that is advertised as you are not Ofsted registered, so you should focus on the training that is required before registration will be granted and then after your Ofsted visit contact the Workforce Development Team to notify them your registration was granted - discount will then be applied to further training that you then purchase.

What if I don’t have a debit card?

As cheques are gradually being phased out it is expected that all payments will be made this way in the future, you will need to talk to your bank to arrange a debit card.

I’ve forgotten my password – what should I do?

Follow the prompt when asked to log in and this will generate an email to the system administrator who will send you the information

What if I can no longer attend on the date that I have originally booked?

You will need to contact the system administrator via email on the contact us link, providing all of the information in order that a transfer can be made. This can only be done if there is a place available on the new date. It should be assumed that once your place is booked and confirmed there is not the facility to reimburse you with the booking fee if you decide you are then not able to attend, so it would be best use of your funds to try to organise a colleague to attend in your place if you find that you can no longer be there.

What if a staff member leaves the setting and I want to put someone else on the course instead?

You will need to contact the system administrator via email on the contact us link, providing all of the information in order that the details can be amended. If the staff member originally booked has left the setting it would be useful if you could notify the Workforce Development Team in the email, of where the staff member has moved too in order that her account can be transferred.

Who does the training belong too if a staff member leaves the setting?

All bookings remain the responsibility of the setting that made the purchase

So, if a staff member moves setting, the training remains the belonging of the setting that made the booking as it was the setting that paid the fee, so it would be their responsibility to notify the Workforce Team of the cancellation or who they will be sending instead of the original candidate - it should be made clear to the staff member that left that the training is no longer theirs to attend.

There may be circumstances where some settings asks individuals to pay for their own training, in which case it is then owned by the individual learner.

What happens if I need to cancel my place on a course?

You MUST notify the system administrator by email, follow the link on the contact us page, providing the course and delegate information. Failure to do so will result in a cancellation fee being generated if the cancellation did not occur within the agreed timescale.

It should be assumed that once your place is booked and confirmed there is not the facility to reimburse you with the booking fee if you decide you are then not able to attend, it would be best use of your funds to try to organise a colleague to attend in your place if you find that you can no longer be there.

What if Lincolnshire County Council should need to cancel a course?

It will only be in extreme circumstances that this will happen, due to extreme weather conditions or tutor illness (if a replacement tutor cannot be organised). You will be contacted at the earliest opportunity and informed of the rescheduled date and offered a full reimbursement of your booking fee if the new date is not convenient.

Is there a limit to the number of training courses that my staff can do?

No, as there is not the funding available to support the settings with funding for staff cover it will be at the discretion of the Manager to discuss their staff teams training needs during supervision / appraisal meetings.

When do I get my attendance certificate?
